What is a board-certified orthodontist?

A board-certified orthodontist is an orthodontist who has voluntarily gone through hundreds of additional hours of rigorous training to demonstrate that they possess the judgment, skills and knowledge required to provide the highest level of patient care. Less than 30% of orthodontists become certified.

Will I see the orthodontist on every appointment?

Absolutely! Dr. Nanjappa is very involved with all aspects of your treatment and personally places all appliances herself.

How much does orthodontic treatment cost?

The cost of treatment varies depending on the severity of the case, types of appliances used and treatments necessary. Discussion of the fee is made at the time of initial consultation, and our office offers various payment plans and financing options.

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

Treatment time typically ranges from one to three years, depending on the growth of the patient’s mouth and face and the severity of the problem. Patients grow at various rates and respond differently to orthodontic treatment, so the time until case completion may differ from the original estimate.

If I have braces, do I still need dental checkups and clean every six months?

Yes! In fact, it's even more important that patients receiving orthodontic treatment visit their dentist regularly. We will work closely with your dentist to ensure that your teeth stay clean and healthy while wearing braces.

How often are appointments?

The frequency of appointments also varies with your treatment plan. Usually, it will be every 4-6 weeks. You'll get a more precise overview of appointment requirements when you come for your initial complimentary consultation.

Can kids and teenagers have Invisalign® treatment?

Yes, there is a specialized Invisalign® treatment for teens. When worn appropriately, Invisalign Teen can be as effective as traditional braces for the most common teeth-straightening issues. It has a blue dot feature that allows parents to quickly check aligner trays to ensure they are being worn for the correct number of hours daily
